This template contains easy-to-use, fill-in-the-blanks-style copy for the first two crucial emails in your welcome sequence: the confirmation email, and the welcome email.
Email marketing is POWERFUL. Many successful marketing gurus say it’s more important to have an effective email list and email marketing plan than a big social media following. But what does that mean, practically, for the average blogger, small business owner, or solopreneur?
Effective email marketing is going to be different for every entrepreneur and business, but over the years, I’ve noticed that the best email marketing tends to have a few things in common:
- A personable, helpful, friendly tone of voice
- A “letter” format rather than a “newsletter” format
- Unique content
- A certain degree of automation
And that’s where the welcome sequence comes in. When someone has just joined your email list, you are fresh on their mind – you are someone they genuinely do want to hear from, even in the chaos of their messy email inbox. In fact, you might think of this window as the time when they are most likely to become one of your paying customers, whatever that means for your particular business.
So, make sure these emails provide a great first impression! Using them to welcome readers to your list is a crucial step to taking advantage of this optimal window and making a positive impression of your brand.
This sequence may be automated, but it CANNOT be “canned” or copied from someone else. That’s because the purpose of the sequence is to connect with your new list member in a way that is completely unique to you and your brand.
That said, you don’t have to re-invent the wheel. In fact, your email welcome sequence will likely be more effective if you use the best practices, outlines, and prompts I’ve put together in this template.

I LOVED the simple welcome email sequence template! It was easy to understand and I was able to implement the information quickly. No seriously, I used the template in my email marketing system right away and was done within 10 – 15 minutes. – Ashley
The templates with examples put so much into perspective for me. Most of the time I have an idea of what I want to put in an email, but how to organize them, or what words to use, leave me stumped (and honestly, some emails I get from other people or organizations can’t be used as reference!)…Try it! Seriously, no need to delay. – Jessica
Emails are super important and the template makes it easy if you don’t know where to begin. It gives you an outline of what you should write. Also, you can customize the email to your liking. – Anonymous
